I find it interesting to paint in black and white because black evokes sophistication and white communicates innocence.  It's clear, black and white are opposites. Contrast creates an interest.ing effect. The convergence of black and white (more so than any other colour combination) is an example of how two divergent colours communicate more powerfully together than they do on their own.
